2012: The Final Variant!

So, another year has passed and I've managed to beat the clock to complete the very last sketch cover of 2012!  I've only got a couple of sketch cards and a commission sketch (on regular paper) to knock out and then I'm all set to tackle 2013 (which will be filled with me completing EDEN: Volume 1 and finishing up the Danger Down Under series of the Haps with Todd & Craig)!

Leaf, Matt Wieringo and awesome writing from Todd Dezago! If you like monsters and fun comics it's just what you've been missing!

Project: "Draw a Whole Buncha' Covers"--Almost Complete!

First of all, I hope you had a blessed and relaxing Thanksgiving (if you had one at all). Mine was very peaceful and memorable. Thanks to all that wished me a happy birthday as well!

So...I'm almost done with my sketch commissions and I have to admit: I felt like I'd almost never see the end of the road! Not that I don't enjoy doing these (I do), but balancing commissions and penciling comics is a challenge on my current, limited schedule. I think I have one more sketch cover and about 4 more regular sketches for my last con batch to be done. So here are the last few I did:

Hit Girl #1- Sketch Cover Variant

Secret Invasion #1- Sketch Cover Variant

Deadpool- Commission Sketch

And to top it all off...a cool fan from the Baltimore Comic-Con actually had a TMNT sketch cover that I did for him CGCed! What an honor! Thanks for sending me the pic!

Until next time...BLESSINGS TO YOU ALL!!!

My Secret Identity!

Welcome back, people!

A few months ago I was blessed to have the fine team over at Airman Magazine and the AFBS do a feature story about my life as an Airman, comic artist and family man. They did an INCREDIBLE job putting it all together so please check it out below:

Pretty cool, huh?

As if that wasn't awesome enough, I've been having even more fun mowing down these sketch commissions one by one! Here's one that I did at the request of the AFBS reporter/narrator that helped put my "Secret Identity" video together; Chris Pyles:

The Joker- Marker Sketch (11x17)

And another sketch cover that I just wrapped up for a very cool guy named Nick:

The Black Knight- Sketch Cover Commission

No time for a break though! I've got to jump back to the drafting table yet again for some more sketch cover and comic page madness!

I love it! Thank you LORD for this joy and your gift.

Until next time, my friends...

Cover 2 Cover!

Alright, so production on the last issue of the Perhapanauts: Danger Down Under is underway and my penciling hand is getting all warmed up! So what do my warm-ups produce you say?

MORE SKETCH COVERS.

That's what.

These are really fun to do! So, here are a few more that I did for fans from the Baltimore Comic-Con:

Fear Itself: Book 1- Feat. the Perhapanauts as Marvel Characters: Mighty BIG, Captain MG, Spider-Risa, Ms. Molly, Moth-Eye and Iron-Cabra!

The Incredible Hulk #1 (Sketch Cover Variant): The Jade Giant VS The Dark Knight!

I just want to say a huge "Thank You" to all of the fans that allow me the chance to draw some of my favorite characters as part of these sketch covers. I'll be posting more and more of them here and there (as I work on the latest Haps pages and EDEN pages), but until then...

Be blessed and be a blessing!

A Con to Remember: Baltimore 2012 (Part 1)!

Now that I'm safely back home and all settled back in with my wonderful family, I must take the time to say this; the Baltimore Comic-Con was absolutely OUTSTANDING! Not only did I get a chance to meet great people, eat great food, catch up with friends and enjoy the craft of comics, I also got so many excellent opportunities to draw sketches for the very people that make comics so fun:  THE FANS. So if you have a few moments, let me share with you my Baltimore Comic-Con experience:

Picking up my badge...

Getting set up...

Table set-up and ready to go!

The crowds building on Day 1

My friends Craig and Todd hard at work!

Holding a pal's new comic...

Chatting with Greg Capullo about drawing (thanking him for what he taught me early on in comics)

Time to sketch for the fans!

Here are a few things I ended up sketching for the wonderful attendees at the Con:

Fun times! There were even more but I don't think I can post it all now!

What is that you say? Were there cosplayers?

Of course there were! Tune in next time for part 2 of the Baltimore Comic-Con wrap up and see some of the cosplayers at their best!

Until next time! Be blessed!!!
